The Birth of a Nerd and the Death of a Star

I can't remember the exact date, but it was sometime in the summer of 1982 (so I was  not yet five years old) I went to the movies. We were at the Mann Theater in Pocatello, Id and I was with my sister, Melanie and I think maybe my dad. The Movie was Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn and to be honest, the movie traumatized me. The part where they put the critters in their ears...? yeah. I had an irrational fear of earwigs after that. (still do)

That was the first movie I ever remember going to. In fact, that is probably one of my earliest memories, period. That's how long I have been a nerd. That's how long I have liked Star Trek and personally, Spock was always my favorite. I think it's the eyebrows. >:-)

Have you ever just sat and listened to Leonard Nimoy's voice? I love his voice! He's just so calming and peaceful.

Anyway, I was very sad to hear that he'd passed away, but my sister Valeri and I had a good laugh yesterday at the thought of Melanie being at the head of the line of heavenly fangirls welcoming Mr Nimoy home. I hope it happened that way.
